SAIL Powers Mahakumbh Mela 2025 with 45,000 Metric Tons of Steel for Historic Event

Steel Authority of India Limited, the leading Maharatna public sector steel company, has supplied a remarkable 45,000 metric tons of steel for the grand Mahakumbh Mela 2025 in Prayagraj. This steel supply consists of a variety of materials such as chequered plates, hot strip mill plates, mild steel plates, angles, and joists. SAIL's involvement in the Mahakumbh Mela is not a new endeavor, as it previously supported the 2013 event, underlining the company’s long-standing commitment to major public events in India.

The steel will be crucial for the construction of vital infrastructure, including temporary steel bridges, pontoon bridges, flyovers, passages, and substations. These structures are indispensable for ensuring the safe and efficient movement of millions of devotees and visitors during the Mela, which is one of the largest religious gatherings in the world. SAIL's contribution is instrumental in supporting the Public Works Department, Uttar Pradesh State Bridges Corporation, Electricity Board, and their suppliers in building these temporary structures.
