The new line, with an impressive annual production capacity of 250,000 metric tons, will be designed to process zinc-aluminum (Al-Zn), zinc-aluminum-magnesium (Al-Zn-Mg), and zinc-aluminum-magnesium (Zn-Al-Mg) alloy coated coils. These specialized coatings are critical for enhancing the durability and performance of steel products used in a variety of industries, including automotive, construction, and industrial applications.
A Modern Hot Dip Galvanizing Line
The scope of Tenova's work includes not only the engineering and supply of the complete equipment for the galvanizing line but also the supervision of its installation. The advanced electrical and automation systems for this project will be developed by Tenova Italimpianti, a renowned Tenova brand recognized for its expertise in technologies such as reheating, heat treatment, strip processing, acid regeneration plants, and cold rolling mills.
Key features of the new galvanizing line include a cleaning section that ensures the removal of surface contaminations, an advanced combination of mechanical, hydrodynamic, and chemical processes for coating, and a furnace designed to separate the furnace atmosphere, combustion process, and ambient environment. This advanced furnace design is crucial to preventing any deterioration in the surface quality of the steel strips during heat treatment. Additionally, the air knife systems will further enhance the galvanized surface, ensuring top-tier quality, while the inline skin pass mill will finish the coated surface with a controlled surface imprint, optimizing strip shape and overall finish.
