Fatal Dumper-Bus Collision in Surat Involving AMNS India Workers: One Killed, Several Injured
On February 6, 2025, a devastating accident occurred on the Surat-Hazira Highway, near Hazira, Surat, when a dumper collided with a private bus carrying employees of ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India Limited. The collision resulted in the tragic death of one worker and left over 15 others injured, some seriously. The bus was en route to AMNS India's facility, with around 50 workers onboard.
How the Accident Unfolded
According to initial reports, the dumper driver was attempting to avoid a cyclist and a car when he lost control of the vehicle. The dumper then collided with the bus, causing both vehicles to overturn. The impact of the crash was so severe that the windows of the bus shattered, and several passengers were thrown onto the road, making the scene even more chaotic.
