Stainless Steel Precision Reaches Benghazi

Karmod, a Turkish manufacturer known for modular industrial solutions, has recently completed the export of four stainless steel silo tanks to a food production facility in Benghazi, Libya. These advanced tanks, each with a capacity of 10,000 liters, were engineered to endure the extreme temperatures and environmental challenges prevalent in North African climates.

Manufactured from 304L-grade stainless steel, a low-carbon variant noted for its superior heat resistance & anti-corrosion properties, these tanks represent Karmod's strategic push into critical infrastructure markets across the MENA region.

Adapted Engineering for Harsh Environments

The 304L stainless steel used in the tanks allows them to remain stable under high heat and humid conditions, a common issue in regions like Libya. The tanks were not only built for resilience but also designed for efficiency. According to Talay Ozturk, General Manager of Karmod’s Composite Division:

“The 304L stainless steel we used contains lower carbon levels, offering improved resistance to heat and corrosion.”

In addition, each tank was outfitted with custom footings that raise the base 60 centimeters above ground, a design enhancement that improves usability in industrial settings where space & mobility are key considerations.

North Africa: A Rising Demand Hub

The shipment to Libya underscores Karmod’s growing foothold in North Africa. Ozturk pointed out that countries like Morocco, Tunisia & Egypt have also shown increased interest in Turkish-made industrial solutions due to their reputation for durability & logistical accessibility via sea routes.

“Turkish-made products are recognized for their quality, and sea transport routes offer logistical advantages for exports to the region,” Ozturk said.

This regional demand spike coincides with infrastructure modernization efforts and the expansion of food & beverage production sectors across the continent.

Modular Versatility & Industrial Range

Karmod's stainless steel storage systems are highly customizable. The company offers a diverse portfolio of tanks, available in horizontal, vertical, square & rectangular shapes. Their capacities range widely, from 500 liters to 100 metric tons, making them suitable for water, food, & chemical liquid storage.

The tanks' design incorporates not just capacity considerations, but also practical deployment features like corrosion protection, temperature stability, and flexible installation for both indoor & outdoor industrial facilities.

Strategic Focus on Export Innovation

With this project, Karmod continues to strengthen its export strategy, particularly to countries that value engineering longevity & safe industrial operations. By offering tailor-made solutions and addressing the specific climate & industrial needs of the African market, the company is reinforcing its position as a trusted global player.

Karmod’s success in Libya could potentially lead to larger-scale deployments in the region, especially as governments & private enterprises look for long-lasting solutions in storage & process efficiency.
