On 19 June 2024, the renowned system service provider unveiled their latest innovation: an automated high-speed circular saw with integrated robotic capabilities. This cutting-edge system marks a significant upgrade from their previous mono saw, promising enhanced precision, efficiency, and versatility in production.

The newly introduced high-speed circular saw, designed by Günther + Schramm, stands out for its ability to seamlessly integrate multiple functions. Unlike its predecessor, which was limited to sawing, the new system undertakes additional tasks of deburring and packaging with robotic precision. This integration eliminates the need for manual intervention, previously required for handling steel, aluminum, or iron products.

Volker Walz, operations manager at Günther + Schramm, emphasizes the transformative impact of this innovation: "Robots and their peripherals are fully integrated into the machine control system, streamlining operations from order entry to visualization and diagnostics. Central to the functionality of the circular saw is its CNC control, enabling automated production of precise workpieces. A key feature includes a robotic system positioned behind the saw, adept at removing sections using vacuum suction or mechanical grippers. This system facilitates automatic stacking of saw sections into up to eight pallet spaces, alongside disposal of unusable remnants.

An additional standout capability of the system is its dual-sided deburring functionality, executed seamlessly by an auxiliary handling robot and adjustable clamping devices. This ensures that sawn sections meet stringent quality standards before being automatically palletized with accompanying documentation, ready for dispatch.

The circular saw accommodates a wide array of materials, from solid components to profiles and pipes, including challenging materials like hard metals. A universal magazine with ten storage compartments facilitates seamless integration of different material dimensions and qualities, enhancing operational flexibility. This magazine, capable of storing up to 7,500 kilograms, ensures uninterrupted production cycles with minimal downtime.
