ITC’s FMCG division has recently amplified its international presence with the launch of the delectable ‘Sunfeast Dark Fantasy Choco Fills’ in Nepal, symbolizing an unprecedented milestone in the company’s ambitious global trajectory. This strategic expansion has propelled ITC's footprint to over 70 countries, underscoring its prowess in the competitive FMCG sector. Surya Nepal Private Limited, an ITC subsidiary, further bolstered this momentum by inaugurating a state-of-the-art biscuit manufacturing facility near Biratnagar in eastern Nepal in August 2023.
In pursuit of augmenting its market reach, ITC is meticulously exploring proximal markets as potential growth vectors. The company’s annual report elucidates that the Production Linked Incentive scheme is being judiciously leveraged to escalate exports across a gamut of categories including biscuits, cakes, snacks, dairy, and ready-to-eat items. Brands such as Aashirvaad, Sunfeast, ITC Master Chef, and Kitchens of India are at the forefront of this export-oriented strategy, particularly targeting high-potential markets like the US and Canada.
Parallelly, ITC’s agri business has not lagged, extending its reach to over 85 countries. It has entrenched itself as a preeminent player in the spices sector, specializing in commodities like chili, turmeric, coriander, and cumin. The company’s unwavering commitment to quality and compliance has facilitated its ascension in markets such as the USA, EU, and Japan.
Moreover, ITC's agri business has significantly enhanced its Organic and Integrated Crop Management (ICM) programs, thereby fortifying its capability to produce ‘food safe’ spices sustainably. Collaborations with various State Governments have further augmented this endeavor, ensuring the production of spices that meet stringent food safety standards, thus maintaining an unblemished compliance record.
The capacity utilization of ITC’s cutting-edge spices processing facility in Andhra Pradesh has been optimized to cater to the burgeoning demand in ‘food safe’ export markets. This strategic ramp-up has not only expanded ITC’s customer base but also promoted inclusive value chains, benefiting thousands of Indian farmers.
In the realm of marine products, ITC stands as a venerated exporter of value-added frozen marine delicacies. With its proficiency in processing individually quick-frozen (IQF), raw, and cooked products, ITC adheres to the highest safety and hygiene standards, particularly in developed markets such as the US, EU, and Japan. Recently, ITC has emerged as one of the top three exporters of frozen shrimps from India to the EU, leveraging the Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) program for sustainably sourced shrimp.
