The Suez Canal Economic Zone witnessed a milestonedevelopment this Sunday as Chairman Walid Gamal El-Din presided over the signingceremony for Massoud Steel Group's new manufacturing facility. The Egyptiancompany, specializing in metal containers and tinplate printing services, willestablish operations on a 31,000-square-meter plot within the ready-madefactories area managed by Main Development Company in the Sokhna IndustrialZone. With an investment of EGP 965 million ($31.3 million), the projectrepresents a significant addition to Egypt's industrial capacity and alignswith national efforts to expand manufacturing capabilities.

The facility will initially employ approximately 130workers, with additional job creation expected as operations expand. Accordingto project timelines, production is scheduled to begin during the first quarterof 2026, initially targeting domestic market needs before pivoting towardexport markets in subsequent phases. This gradual approach reflects a strategicbusiness development plan designed to establish a solid foundation beforepursuing international opportunities.

In remarks following the signing ceremony, SCZone ChairmanWalid Gamal El-Din highlighted the zone's comprehensive incentive package as adecisive factor in attracting Massoud Steel's investment. "The diverseincentives within the economic zone, including direct and indirect financialincentives, exemptions for exported goods, an export support program, and thestrategic location and integration between industrial zones and seaports,provide a favorable investment environment for Massoud Steel Group," he stated.These advantages are particularly valuable for Massoud Steel's long-termstrategy to penetrate global markets.

The SCZone's unique positioning at the nexus of threecontinents, combined with its integrated infrastructure connecting industrialzones with maritime facilities, creates logistical efficiencies that cansignificantly reduce operational costs.
