During a recent visit to the Tosyalı Demir Çelik İskenderun Plant, Diamantino Pedro Azevedo, the Minister of Mineral Resources, Petroleum and Gas of the Republic of Angola, along with his delegation, was welcomed by Tosyalı Iron & Steel. This visit marked a significant milestone as Tosyalı announced its plans to expand its existing iron ore investment and establish an integrated iron and steel plant in Angola.

Tosyalı, a global leader in green steel production, has made substantial investments in various countries, including Türkiye, Algeria, Libya, Senegal, and Spain. With this new initiative in Angola, the company aims to further solidify its presence in Africa. The partnership with Sonangol, Angola's state-owned oil and gas company, is set to enhance the scope of Tosyalı's operations in the region, demonstrating a commitment to diversifying Angola's economy beyond oil and gas.

Following the visit, which included dignitaries such as Jose Gonçalves Martins Patricio, Angola's Ambassador to Türkiye, and Sebastiao Gaspar Martins, Chairperson of Sonangol, Tosyalı's leadership expressed optimism about the new collaboration. Fuat Tosyalı, Chairperson of the Board of Directors of Tosyalı Holding, highlighted the importance of the partnership, stating, “We were pleased to welcome the Minister and his accompanying delegation at Tosyalı Demir Çelik İskenderun Plant, known as the center of green steel in Türkiye.” He emphasized Tosyalı's belief in Angola's potential and the company's support for the nation’s strategy to diversify its economy.

The establishment of this new steel plant, expected to be completed by 2027, will create a fully integrated industrial complex that encompasses the entire value chain from mining to steel production.
