In an electrifying announcement, Dragami Games has unveiled the highly anticipated remake of the cult classic Lollipop Chainsaw. Titled Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP, this definitive version is set to launch worldwide on September 25 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Switch, and PC via Steam. Priced at $49.99, the game will also be available in Japan on September 26 for 6,490 yen. Fans can look forward to a multilingual experience, with the game supporting English and Japanese voice-overs, as well as text in English, Japanese, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Latin American Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, and Traditional Chinese.

Yoshimi Yasuda, who served as the producer of the original Lollipop Chainsaw in 2012, is at the helm of Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP's development. While the remake will maintain the original story, the focus has been on enhancing the overall experience through quality-of-life improvements and the addition of fresh gameplay content. Players will once again step into the shoes of Juliet, a descendant of zombie hunters, as she fights alongside her boyfriend and family to thwart a zombie apocalypse that begins in her high school on her 18th birthday.

One of the most notable enhancements in Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP is the significant increase in resolution, now presented in full HD. Load times have also been greatly reduced, ensuring a seamless and immersive experience for players. The game's combat mechanics have received a boost with the introduction of the Chained Hits Hunting system, which rewards players for chaining multiple hits in succession by increasing their attack speed. Additionally, the input timings for Combo Actions have been fine-tuned to better align with players' expectations, making the gameplay feel more intuitive and satisfying.

Dragami Games has also revamped the Chainsaw Blaster action, introducing auto-lock and auto-fire modes that can be toggled on and off. The maximum ammo count has been increased to 99, giving players more firepower to take on the zombie hordes. Furthermore, players will now have immediate access to Combo Actions from the start of the game, allowing them to dive into the action without delay.

Alongside the Original Mode, Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP introduces a brand new "RePOP mode," which features a vibrant and colorful pop art-inspired art style for damage effects. This mode adds a fresh visual flair to the game, making the zombie-slaying action even more eye-catching and stylish.

Customization options have been significantly expanded in the remake, with players now having access to 30 costumes, surpassing the original game's offerings. Combined with the addition of 4 new hair colors and 4 unique chainsaws, players can create a staggering 750 different combinations to personalize their Juliet. The game also introduces an expanded version of Juliet's Room, offering more features for players to explore and enjoy.

For those seeking an extra challenge, Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP includes a "Time Attack" mode complete with a ranking feature. This mode allows players to test their skills and compete for the top spots on the leaderboards, adding an exciting layer of replayability to the game.

Physical editions of Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP are set to be released worldwide in October, with more details to be announced at a later date. As the anticipation builds, fans can look forward to a nostalgic yet refreshed zombie-hunting experience that pays homage to the original while introducing a host of exciting improvements and additions.
