In a significant move to deepen its connection with key clients, the Latin American steel giant Ternium has reinforced its long-standing relationship with the Mexican multinational appliance manufacturer Mabe. This partnership is essential as Ternium continues to expand its presence in the steel market, particularly through its ties with industries that rely heavily on steel products, such as appliance manufacturers. A recent visit by Ternium to one of Mabe’s major plants in the central Mexican state of San Luis Potosi marks a new chapter in their collaboration.

During the visit, which took place on November 22, 2024, Ternium's regional sales manager and several other representatives toured the plant, which is known as the largest stove production facility in the world. The plant, part of Mabe's expansive operations, is one of the company's 18 production sites spread across the globe. The visit provided Ternium with valuable insights into the critical role its steel products play in Mabe's manufacturing process, particularly in the production of various stove models. “We had a tour of the plant and a very interesting talk that helped us to become aware of the importance of our steel products in its different stove models,” stated the Ternium manager.

Mabe, a well-established name in the global home appliance market, manufactures a wide array of products, including refrigerators, washing machines, dryers, ovens, and other household essentials. The company has a presence in over 70 countries and is known for its innovation and high-quality standards. Moody’s, the international credit rating agency, notes that Mabe is 51.6% owned by the Mexican Berrondo and Saiz families, with the remaining 48.4% stake held by the Chinese multinational Haier Group. This diverse ownership structure underlines Mabe's international reach and its ability to tap into global markets.

The partnership between Ternium and Mabe is more than just a business transaction; it is a collaborative effort to ensure that the steel used in Mabe's products meets the highest standards of quality and performance. Ternium, which is a leader in steel production in Latin America, has long been a trusted supplier to various industries, and its steel is integral to the production of many household appliances. The strong, reliable steel products manufactured by Ternium help ensure the durability and functionality of Mabe’s appliances, which are widely recognized for their innovation and quality.

One of the key takeaways from the visit was the commitment to further strengthening the bond between the two companies. The discussions held during the plant tour underscored the importance of mutual growth, emphasizing the need for continued collaboration to meet the demands of an ever-evolving global market. Both companies recognize the value of working closely together to ensure that their products remain competitive and relevant in a fast-changing industry.

Mabe’s impressive portfolio includes not only large appliances but also essential components such as built-in ovens, hoods, water coolers, and microwave ovens. These products rely heavily on high-quality steel to ensure their structural integrity, making Ternium’s steel a crucial part of Mabe’s supply chain. As the global demand for household appliances continues to grow, both companies are keen to expand their operational capabilities to meet the needs of consumers worldwide.
