AM/NS India Supplies 7,000 Metric Tons of Steel for Historic Anji Khad Rail Bridge

ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India has made a significant contribution to the infrastructure landscape of India by supplying 7,000 metric tons of flat steel for the construction of the Anji Khad cable-stayed rail bridge in Jammu and Kashmir. This bridge, part of the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link, is an engineering marvel and marks an important milestone in India's railway infrastructure development. The bridge successfully conducted its first loaded train trial run, a major achievement in the nation's rail network expansion.

AM/NS India’s flagship plant in Hazira, Gujarat, was at the forefront of this monumental project. The company meticulously fabricated the steel, fulfilling nearly the entire requirement for the Anji Khad bridge from its Hazira plant’s fabrication shop. The steel supplied was created to precise specifications to ensure the bridge's structural integrity, highlighting AM/NS India's expertise in producing world-class steel for large-scale infrastructure projects.

Ranjan Dhar, Director and Vice President of Sales & Marketing at AM/NS India, expressed pride in the company’s involvement, stating that the supply of steel for such an iconic project reflected the company's commitment to nation-building and its extensive expertise in large infrastructure projects. The Anji Khad rail bridge will play a vital role in enhancing the connectivity between the Katra and Reasi sections of the USBRL, which is a critical part of the broader effort to improve rail transport across Jammu and Kashmir.

In addition to its contribution to the Anji Khad bridge, AM/NS India has also played a pivotal role in the construction of the Chenab Bridge, the world’s highest rail bridge. The company supplied more than 70% of the flat steel required for the bridge, further cementing its position as a key player in India’s growing infrastructure development.
