At the 18th Safety Symposium & Exposition, organized by the Confederation of Indian Industries Eastern Region in Kolkata, Tata Steel’s Ferro Alloys and Minerals Division emerged as a beacon of excellence in safety innovation, clinching three highly coveted awards. Tata Steel's remarkable performance at the event underscores its steadfast commitment to Environment, Health, and Safety excellence across its operations.

The Joda West Iron and Manganese Mine, situated in Joda, Keonjhar district, stood out as the Regional Final Winner in the Mining category. This accolade reflects the mine's consistent adherence to stringent safety protocols and its innovative approach to incorporating digital tools that enhance operational safety. Tata Steel's commitment to safety is further exemplified by its Gopalpur Ferro Alloys Plant in Ganjam district, which secured the First Runner-Up position in the Large-Scale Manufacturing category. This category, reserved for organizations with up to 2,500 employees, recognized the plant's outstanding efforts in maintaining a safe working environment while embracing digitalization to drive safety excellence.

Equally impressive was the recognition of the Saruabil Chromite Mine in Sukinda, Jajpur district, which earned the Second Runner-Up title in the Mining category.
