From its headquarters in Essex, SEE Services is making waves in the facilities management industry by offering market-leading FM and infrastructure support services to customers throughout the United Kingdom. While the company provides a wide range of FM services, its core business and expertise lies in hard services, delivering planned and reactive services such as HVAC, mechanical, and electrical. SEE sets itself apart from competitors by placing a strong emphasis on communication and personal interaction from the initial contact with customers through to the final handover, ensuring positive experiences for all involved.

Jeff Alden, Group Strategy and Development Director, sheds light on the company's journey, stating, "Although SEE's history traces back to 1985 when it was known as Southeastern Electrical Ltd, the company as we know it was established in 2014. The current shareholders and I took over SEE from the original owner in 2018, developing it into a multi-service FM provider. Today, our core areas of activity focus on sustainability, mobile maintenance delivery, and legal compliance, including gas, electric, fire, and water safety. SEE's mobile maintenance extends everywhere from Fort William to Truro, covering electrical building fabric, HVAC, and both hard and soft services, such as remediation and high-access facade cleaning."

Sustainability plays a pivotal role in SEE's offering, as the company strives to support its customers in their decarbonization efforts. "We serve as a partner to clients across diverse sectors, aiding them in reducing their energy usage, improving efficiency, and reaching their net-zero targets. Whether it is a university, an ambulance service, a healthcare organization, or retail giants like Versace, Poundland, or Tesco, SEE provides solutions to empower their energy transition with an ever-growing portfolio," informs Jeff. The company collaborates with customers, their property teams, or sustainability leads to gain a thorough understanding of their strategies and needs, providing the most suitable services to help them on their net-zero journey.

SEE is also becoming an increasingly strong presence in the electric vehicle market. The company began installing electrical charging points in all Tesco car parks in 2018 and has since expanded its services to include feasibility studies, civils works, and comprehensive installation and commissioning. To date, SEE has successfully installed and continues to maintain over 3,000 commercial charging points across the UK, representing approximately 7% of the total 55,000 commercial charging stations throughout the country. The company's customer base has expanded beyond Tesco, with new clients in the motor trade, ambulance services, and public bodies like the Borough of Lambeth, Bridgend Council, and Portsmouth University.

In addition to overseeing the installation of charging stations, SEE handles the entire end-to-end process for its clients, including managing the payment process and ensuring the availability of the charging stations. The company is also venturing into the charging point operator market, managing the public end of EV charging equipment for its bank customers. SEE aims to grow its market share in the EV sector even further as part of its ESG drive and commitment to sustainability.

To achieve its own net-zero targets, SEE has adopted multiple internal changes with the help of Planet Mark, a crucial partner in helping the company reach its internal business targets. Through comprehensive inspections of buildings and vehicles, and assessments of fuel and energy consumption, Planet Mark has motivated SEE to reevaluate its buildings' occupancy levels, heating, and lighting systems to implement measures that enhance energy efficiency. The company also strives to reduce travel and expand its fleet of EVs, with the goal of having a fully electric fleet by 2025.

At the forefront of the facilities management sector's journey towards sustainability, SEE Services is spearheading the adoption of EVs and enabling major organizations to lower their carbon emissions while rapidly expanding its presence nationwide. With a strong commitment to sustainability and a proven track record of delivering innovative solutions, SEE is well-positioned to continue revolutionizing the industry and driving positive change for years to come.
