In a bid to secure unique vehicle registration numbers, the Transport Department of Telangana organized a high-profile auction that garnered significant attention and revenue. The auction, held recently, amassed a total of ₹18,28,797, highlighting a growing trend among enthusiasts and collectors to acquire distinctive number plates.

The highest bid of the evening soared to ₹6,00,999 for the coveted number '9999', which adorned the Toyota Vellfire Hybrid of bidder Mamidi Rajashekhar Reddy. This eye-catching figure underscored the allure of personalized number plates in the region.

Among the other notable sales, the registration number 'TG 10 A 0001', linked to a Mercedes-Benz E 220 D, fetched ₹3,60,000. The successful bidder, Ranjitha Gopi Rao Yanimadula, clinched this prestigious number plate, adding to the evening's fervor.

MAC Labs Limited secured the registration number 'TG 10 A 0009', associated with a Mercedes-Benz GLS 400 D, for ₹2,61,126, affirming the diverse interests of bidders ranging from individuals to corporate entities.

Further contributing to the auction's success, 'TG 10 A 0007', connected to a Toyota Innova Crysta, was sold for ₹1,61,999 to Shiva Kalyan Mekala. Meanwhile, the number plate 'TG 10 A 0005', belonging to a Mercedes-Benz Maybach S 580, was acquired by Ratnadeep Retail Private Limited for ₹51,500.

The Transport Department's initiative to introduce TG series vehicle registration numbers has fueled heightened interest and participation in these exclusive auctions. Notably, earlier auctions held in March across various districts of Telangana accumulated a substantial ₹2,51,86,347 in revenue. The auction topper during this period was 'TG 09 0001', which commanded a staggering ₹9,61,111 from bidder Rudra Rajeev Kumar.

These auctions not only serve as a platform for acquiring personalized vehicle identification but also contribute significantly to the state's revenue streams.
