MAN Truck & Bus UK is thrilled to unveil the New TGX 4×2 eTruck to the United Kingdom market. This innovative vehicle, first showcased at the International IAA Show in Hannover in 2022, marks a significant step in the decarbonization of freight transport. Officially on sale since October 2023, the MAN eTGX eTruck quickly gained popularity, with 700 orders placed within three months of its launch.

The MAN eTGX eTruck boasts impressive capabilities, offering daily ranges of up to 800 kilometers. Customers can customize their eTruck by choosing the number of batteries installed, making it a strong competitor to conventional long-distance transport tractors. With a charging capacity of up to 750 kW, the eTGX strikes a perfect balance for operators seeking efficiency and sustainability.

In May 2024, MAN Truck & Bus expanded its eTruck portfolio at the IFAT Show in Munich, introducing the new eTGX and eTGS rigid range. This expansion brought the number of configurable MAN eTruck variants to over one million, allowing for extensive customization. Customers can now choose from various wheelbases, cab versions, engine performance classes, battery combinations, and charging connection positions, among other industry-specific features.

A key component of the new MAN eTGX and eTGS trucks is their battery. Developed at MAN's Nuremberg facility, these batteries are crucial for the emission-free driveline of the eTruck range. The battery configurations offer operators choices in range, payload, and charging time. Depending on the vehicle's intended use, different battery capacities ensure daily ranges of up to 800 kilometers.

The MAN eTGX 4×2 tractor and eTGS rigids come with several battery options. These include configurations with six battery packs providing 480 kWh and a 400 km range, five battery packs offering 400 kWh and a 325 km range, and four battery packs delivering 320 kWh and a 260 km range. The eTGS rigids also offer a three-battery pack solution with 240 kWh and a 195 km range, maximizing payload for shorter routes.

Adaptability is a hallmark of the MAN eTGX and eTGS trucks. Their modular battery concept and flexible chassis design cater to various applications. The eTGX tractor's wheelbases start from 3.75 meters, accommodating all common trailer variants. These trucks are available in 18 to 28-metric ton rigid chassis, with numerous configurations for wheelbases, cabs, suspensions, and industry-specific features.

MAN Truck & Bus UK also provides a comprehensive 360-degree eMobility Consulting service. This support includes vehicle selection, cost optimization, route analysis, fleet optimization, and charging infrastructure advice. At HORIBA MIRA, the MAN TGX 18.449 4×2 BL SA EB Electric 4×2 Tractor was presented, showcasing a 42000 kg Gross Combination Weight solution. This model features a powerful synchronous motor, a 3750 mm wheelbase, and advanced driver comfort and safety systems. The GX High roof sleeper cab offers a range of luxury amenities, ensuring a comfortable driving experience.

MAN Truck & Bus UK set industry firsts by teaming up with Sunswap to showcase an all-electric tractor unit and a solar-powered refrigerated trailer. This collaboration demonstrates the potential of zero-emission road transport, highlighting the innovative capabilities of the new MAN eTrucks.
