Tubacex, a prominent player in the global gas extraction sector, has recently been awarded a strategic contract by Petrobras, Brazil’s state-controlled oil company. This agreement, valued at €64.5 million, is centered around two critical offshore gas projects: Sépia-2 and Atapu-2. With this new deal, Tubacex further solidifies its reputation as a premier supplier of high-quality solutions tailored for the gas extraction industry, while simultaneously expanding its record-high order book. Deliveries related to this contract are scheduled to commence in 2025, aligning with the completion of each injector well.

The contract entails the provision of over 80 kilometers of corrosion-resistant alloy oil country tubular goods pipes, premium connections, and essential accessories for deepwater extraction at impressive depths of 2,197 meters. These pipelines will be integrated into Petrobras’ floating production storage and offloading platforms, specifically P84 and P85, which are situated about 250 kilometers offshore. In addition to supplying materials, Tubacex is tasked with comprehensive logistics, inventory management, on-site dispatch, repair services, and technical support throughout the installation phase.

This latest contract not only reinforces Tubacex's position in the Brazilian energy sector but also highlights its pivotal role as a preferred partner for Petrobras. Over the last three years, Tubacex has been integral to several complex projects, most notably in the Buzios field, a significant development in Brazil's pre-salt Santos Basin. The Buzios field is regarded as one of the world’s largest deepwater oil and gas reservoirs, with wells extending to depths of up to 6,000 meters and a salt layer exceeding 700 meters. Currently, Buzios produces around 700,000 barrels per day, with expectations to ramp up to 2 million barrels daily by 2030, accounting for approximately 70% of Brazil’s total production.

Safety and operational excellence are central to Tubacex's identity, and these values have been crucial in fostering its enduring relationship with Petrobras. Recently, Petrobras commended Tubacex for its remarkable safety record, which boasts three consecutive years of operations without any accidents, high-potential incidents, or safety anomalies. This recognition underscores Tubacex’s status as a trusted and reliable partner, especially in technically challenging offshore projects.
