In a bold move that marks a new chapter in its storied history, Peter Andrews, a beloved home furnishings store, has bid farewell to its Huntington Station location after 32 years and embarked on a journey to East Northport. The relocation, spurred by the sale of the store's former site to MMC Jericho, has presented Peter Andrews with an opportunity to expand its offerings and enhance the shopping experience for its dedicated clientele.

The new Peter Andrews store, nestled in a former Bed Bath & Beyond space at 3083 Jericho Tpke. in East Northport, boasts an impressive 34,000 square feet, a significant upgrade from its previous 10,000 square foot location in Huntington Station. The expanded space has allowed co-owners Peter, Andrew, and Patti Orshan to curate a more extensive inventory, delighting customers with a wider array of giftware and home furnishings.

As Peter Andrews settles into its new home, the Huntington Station property is undergoing a transformation of its own. MMC Jericho, the new owner, plans to demolish the existing building and an adjacent structure at 448 East Jericho Tpke., merging the lots to create a 2.02-acre site. The ambitious project involves the construction of a three-level, 73,250-square-foot building that will house a relocated Porsche Huntington dealership, currently situated at 855 E. Jericho Tpke. in Huntington Station.

The relocated Porsche dealership, slated to open its doors in late 2025, promises to be a state-of-the-art facility, larger and more modern than its current location. Eric Breitman, general manager for Porsche Huntington, expressed enthusiasm for the move, which will provide customers with an enhanced experience and showcase the luxury car brand's latest offerings.

Meanwhile, Peter Andrews continues to thrive, with three stores now serving Long Island communities. The chain's roots run deep, dating back to the opening of its first store in Williston Park in 1981. The Huntington Station location, which opened in 1992, and the Farmingdale store, established in 1999, have played pivotal roles in the retailer's success. The Farmingdale location also serves as the company's headquarters, overseeing operations and ensuring a seamless shopping experience across all stores.

Peter Andrews' enduring appeal lies in its strong local connection and commitment to providing high-quality home furnishings at competitive prices. As Peter Orshan, co-owner, proudly notes, "Three generations of customers have come in to shop with us. … it's really been a nice experience." The retailer's dedication to sourcing unique and interesting items from around the world has earned it a loyal following, with customers appreciating the curated selection of outdoor, kitchen, living room, and bedroom furniture, as well as an array of accessories and giftware.

With a team of approximately 25 employees and a warehouse in Hauppauge, Peter Andrews is well-positioned to continue its legacy of excellence in its new East Northport location. As the Orshan family and their staff settle into their expanded space, they remain committed to providing the personalized service and quality products that have made Peter Andrews a household name on Long Island for over four decades.
