In a significant development at the 7th China International Import Expo, Tenova, a leading provider of sustainable solutions for the metals industry, has secured two substantial contracts with China Baowu, marking a major milestone in their ongoing collaboration. The signing ceremony, held at Shanghai's National Convention and Exhibition Center on November 8, 2024, was attended by key executives from both organizations.

The first contract encompasses a comprehensive installation package featuring four automatic CNC roll grinders complemented by two automatic inspection stations. This sophisticated setup will be supported by an automatic roll loading system equipped with dual loaders. The installation is specifically designed to serve two new cold rolling mills dedicated to silicon steel production, emphasizing the growing demand for advanced materials in the automotive and energy sectors.

Expanding on their technological prowess, the second contract includes the delivery of two automatic CNC roll grinders and an automatic inspection station, complete with an automated roll loading system. This equipment will be integrated into a new cold rolling mill's roll shop, specifically engineered for silicon steel production. Both installations represent the cutting edge of automation technology in the metals industry.

The roll shops demonstrate Tenova's commitment to advanced automation, with operations contained within segregated areas requiring no human intervention. This design philosophy prioritizes safety while maintaining exceptional quality standards and operational efficiency. The integration of Pomini Tenova's condition monitoring system ensures comprehensive digital oversight of all processes, representing a significant step forward in smart manufacturing.

The partnership between Pomini Tenova and China Baowu has grown significantly over the years, with Pomini Tenova having previously supplied 38 roll grinders to the group. This extensive collaboration has resulted in the installation of nine fully automated roll shops, showcasing Pomini Tenova's expertise in this specialized field since 1989. The total number of roll grinders supplied to the Baowu group now stands at 123 units, demonstrating the scale and depth of their business relationship.

These new installations are particularly significant as they support the production of electrical steel, a crucial material for next-generation energy vehicles. The technology's application in this growing sector underscores the strategic importance of these contracts in supporting the global transition toward sustainable transportation solutions. The advanced automation features ensure consistent quality while minimizing production costs, addressing key industry challenges.
