In a stern response to the growing trend of reckless driving and dangerous stunts on Noida's roads, the traffic police have once again cracked down on offenders by issuing substantial fines. Two separate videos featuring car stunts recently went viral on social media platforms, prompting the authorities to take swift action against the violators.

The first incident came to light on Saturday night when a 24-second video began circulating on various social media channels. The footage showed the driver of an SUV climbing onto the roof of the vehicle while it was moving at a considerable speed. The brazen act not only endangered the life of the driver but also posed a significant risk to other road users. Upon taking cognizance of the viral video, the Noida traffic police issued an e-challan of ₹38,000 to the car owner for multiple violations, including failure to use a safety belt while driving, dangerous driving, and the use of tinted glass, all of which are punishable under the Motor Vehicles Act.

The second video, which surfaced on Sunday, depicted a similar stunt performed on a hatchback car near Surajpur in Greater Noida. The 24-second clip quickly gained traction on social media platforms, drawing the attention of the authorities. In response, the traffic police issued an e-challan of ₹28,500 against the car owner for violating various provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act.

These incidents are not isolated cases, as the Noida traffic police have been actively monitoring social media platforms for evidence of traffic violations and dangerous stunts. Just last week, the department issued challans worth a staggering ₹156,500 in total after four videos of stunts surfaced online. The hefty fines serve as a strong deterrent to those who engage in such irresponsible behavior, putting their own lives and the lives of others at risk.

While the authenticity of the viral stunt videos could not be independently verified by HT, the traffic police's swift action demonstrates their commitment to maintaining road safety and curbing reckless driving. The issuance of substantial fines sends a clear message that such behavior will not be tolerated on Noida's roads.

This is not the first time that the Noida traffic police have taken stringent measures against those involved in dangerous driving and stunts. On March 29, an e-challan of ₹55,000 was issued against a car owner after a video of the vehicle being used for stunts on the Noida Greater-Noida Expressway went viral on social media. Similarly, on March 24, the police arrested a person named Prince Mavi, 25, from his residence in Hari Nagar, Delhi, and seized his black Mahindra Thar after a video of stunts outside a private university in Noida Sector 125 gained traction online. Mavi was charged with rash driving and issued a challan of ₹35,000.

As the menace of reckless driving and dangerous stunts continues to plague Noida's roads, the traffic police remain vigilant in their efforts to ensure the safety of all road users. The department's proactive approach in monitoring social media platforms and taking swift action against offenders serves as a reminder that such behavior will not be tolerated. By imposing substantial fines and taking legal action against violators, the authorities aim to create a safer and more responsible driving environment in the city.
