In a significant development, bp and Worley have unveiled a strategic alliance to drive efficiency and continuous improvement across bp's global Site Projects organization. This collaboration marks a pivotal moment in their longstanding partnership, emphasizing a shared commitment to enhancing operational effectiveness and value creation.

The strategic alliance is set to deliver substantial cost savings, with an estimated initial benefit of US$40 million over two years in locations where Worley holds services contracts. This cost optimization initiative will span across key oil and gas producing regions like the Gulf of Mexico, Oman, Mauritania, Senegal, as well as refineries in Cherry Point, Whiting, Rotterdam, Gelsenkirchen, and Lingen.

Notably, this alliance represents the first of its kind with the operations business within bp, underscoring a new chapter in their collaborative efforts towards operational excellence and sustainable growth. The focus remains on enhancing safety measures, reducing emissions, optimizing high-value activities, and driving cost efficiencies through centralization and standardization initiatives.

Niall Maguire, bp's VP of site projects, expressed optimism about the alliance's potential to drive operational effectiveness and value growth for bp. The partnership between bp and Worley will leverage digital capabilities and global scale to enhance efficiency across various aspects of engineering, procurement, construction development, and management.

The alliance formalizes a longstanding relationship founded on shared objectives, trust, and a dedication to excellence. By pooling their technical expertise and resources, bp and Worley aim to address challenges in a resource-constrained market and drive sustainable change across bp's project portfolio.

Mark Brantley, Group President EMEA and APAC at Worley, highlighted the success of their collaboration in the Site Projects Efficiency Plan over the past two years. This track record of cost reduction and value creation positions them well to implement solutions that drive efficiency and deliver sustainable outcomes for bp's projects worldwide.
