The team from Metalluurical Departmet, consisting of Nishith Sharma, Pradeep Haldhar, and PSN Murthy, worked under the expert guidance of Professor GVSS Shastri in the university's materials science laboratory.

The research project, initiated in 1983, aimed to push the boundaries of metallic glass production using advanced rapid solidification methods. These techniques involve cooling molten metals at extremely high rates, typically exceeding one million degrees Celsius per second, to prevent the formation of crystalline structures.
