MMK's noteworthy project revolved around implementing eco-friendly measures during the construction of its new coke plant No. 12. This state-of-the-art facility, slated to commence operations this year, marks a pivotal moment for MMK as it paves the way for decommissioning five existing coke plants, thereby diminishing the company's environmental footprint significantly.
The new coke plant at MMK symbolizes a paradigm shift towards sustainability, boasting cutting-edge green technologies such as 28 aspiration systems, desulphurization and denitrification units, a closed-loop water supply system, and a biochemical unit. These innovations underscore MMK's commitment to environmental preservation and reducing atmospheric emissions by a substantial 11,350 metric tons annually.
